The library is open every morning break time for boys who choose not to go outside. There is a prefect on duty each day.
My aim for the library is that all the boys should learn to enjoy books and reading and appreciate different authors and their styles of writing.
I have divided the library into 4 sections for ease of use: years 1 and 2, years 3 and 4, years 5 and 6, years 7 and 8.
There are loads of ‘fun’ books and magazines too, for breaktimes and quiet moments.
Thanks to the Parent’s Association, we now have an infra red tape/CD player and are building up a good selection of stories for the boys to enjoy.
All our non-fiction and reference books are now in the Learning Resource Room; these are divided into sections according to the Dewey Decimal System.
We run Book Fairs in the Autumn and Summer Term where the boys can choose and buys new books; they love these occasions and thanks to the parents who provide the money, we are able to get loads of new books for the library!
