Prefects

The Prefect System allows all boys in Year 8 to take positions of responsibility throughout the year. In short, all of the Year 8 Amundsen House boys will have a two week period during which time they will undertake a wide range of duties. They will be Sub Prefects for those 2 weeks and will wear a badge to recognise this. Year 8 boys in Bering House will then take over for the next two weeks followed by Cabot and Drake. Staff will be monitoring the boy’s efforts and this information will be used to help us choose which boys should be made full Prefects at the end of that 8 week period. The process then begins again, allowing all boys to take responsibility throughout the year.

All of the boys in Years 3 to 8 will have the chance to nominate 3 boys from Year 8 who have impressed them over the 8 weeks of duties. This information is combined with 8 weeks of feedback from the staff and a number of boys are made full Prefects.
