Elite ski programme to be set up in Tignes, France

Sir Clive Woodward OBE, former England rugby player and coach, visited Moulsford this week to discuss one of his latest projects, Apex 2100.  The aim of Apex 2100 is to develop an international centre of skiing excellence in Tignes, which combines education with competitive skiing development.

Emerson P in Year 6 is one of seven children, all from the UK, to have been selected for this year’s intake of pupils for this elite programme, based on his ski racing success to date and an assessment with the Apex 2100 team in April.  There are currently five children already enrolled, so the programme will comprise twelve children over the next year or so as the scheme develops.

The expectation is for children to join the scheme full time from October to April in Tignes, working with their schools in the UK who will deliver schemes of work that the children are required to complete and return so as to maintain their academic focus and educational attainment while also undergoing ski training, as well as strength and fitness development.

Many congratulations go to Emerson for gaining a place on this elite programme in the Under 14 category, and the staff at Moulsford look forward to supporting his efforts to combine his skiing talent with fulfilling his educational goals.
