Moulsford really has got talent!

As the heavens opened on Thursday, 16th June, it really was touch and go as to where MGT 2016, supporting Blue Skye Thinking, would happen the following day. We wanted to build on the success of the previous year and re-create a festival atmosphere in the sunshine. The other option, in the Sports Hall, just wouldn’t allow all the performers to really spread their wings and wow the audience. Against all the odds, the sun came out at about 1pm and stayed with us! It was obviously meant to be…

All the performers went through their paces, with Mr Clements perfecting the sound and a team of Year 7 boys as runners to help set the scene. As the staff vs parents cricket match was being played in the background, everything got underway with our Year 7 comperes Tom Stuart and Josh Jackson warming up the audience with a dance-off. This year all public voting was done through the school twitter account and as the acts got underway the votes started pouring in. The Moulsford boys did us all proud with some very impressive performances and a great variety of talents on display. Their confidence and originality really shone through and the audience was very well entertained. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all the finalists on their performances, the amount of effort and preparation that had gone into each act was amazing. In the end, Henry Wooding in Year 8 was named victor. Well done, Henry! The much anticipated return of Monstrosity, the 34 strong staff dance medley choreographed by Jess Roberts, was the perfect ending to a very enjoyable evening. I am very grateful for all of your support and we are pleased to say that we raised just under £600 for Blue Skye Thinking.
