At the time of publishing this newsletter, The Sporting Lunch held at the RAC in London will be drawing to a close. Former England and Bath rugby player David Flatman did the honours as our compère, and we were delighted to welcome Emily Scarratt, who has won over one hundred caps for the Red Roses, as our special guest. Thank you to the team of Moulsford Dads and staff who have worked hard as a committee to organise this very special event and to the generous donors of the auction lots.

My thanks also to all who have supported this event and particularly to our 195 guests. We are especially pleased to have representation from Moulsford Dads across all year groups in the school, as well as a large number of former parents. It was also a pleasure to host staff from Abingdon, Bradfield, Cheltenham College, Harrow, Marlborough, Pangbourne, Radley, Sherborne, Shiplake, St. Edward’s Oxford, Stowe, The Oratory and Wellington. The lunch provides an excellent opportunity for both Moulsford staff and parents to forge even stronger links with our senior schools.

This is the ninth Moulsford RAC lunch and over the years roughly £123,000 has been raised for a number of excellent causes. All funds raised at today’s lunch will go to Inspire Children and Youth, the charity which the 2024 Moulsford South Africa Rugby Tour is supporting. We have a longstanding relationship with this wonderful organisation, and the sixty-two Moulsford Year 7 and 8 boys on the tour look forward to visiting them, meeting the team and seeing first-hand the legacy from previous Moulsford fundraising.
