Moulsford pupils walking to fundraise

William H in Year 7, together with his younger sister Poppy have recently begun a Porch 2 Portugal challenge to raise money for the charity Mind in memory of a family friend. Their aim is (mainly) to walk, with a little running, cycling and rowing thrown in, from their house near Henley on Thames to Vale do Lobo in the Algarve, Portugal.

The pair started on 28th June and are aiming to finish on 28th November. They have to cover 1,294 miles (2,082km) and would like to raise £1,294 (£1 per mile) for Mind. You can donate to the pair here and also follow their progress and they are also regularly updating their stats on Instagram @porch2portugal

Very best of luck and see you in Portugal (virtually at least)!

Meanwhile George H in Year 4 continues his challenge to walk 10 million steps before his 10th birthday. George started this challenge on his 9th birthday in May and has recently completed his first million steps! George is aiming to raise funds for UK Mental Health Sports Charity, Sport in Mind. Through their work and innovative programmes delivered in partnership with the NHS, Sport in Mind helps transform the lives and mental health of children and adults through sport and physical activity. It is also one of Moulsford’s House charities for this year. You can donate to George here.

We wish George the very best of luck as he continues this mammoth task!
