Open Days Calendar & Details

Moulsford holds three Open Events a year in September, February and May. School Open Days offer an informal opportunity to meet the Headmaster, staff, pupils and current parents.  They can be a useful introduction to the school, or an opportunity to bring your child and other family members to familiarise everyone with the surroundings prior to entry the following September, to help confirm your decision.

Timings on the Friday are normally 10am - 12pm and 1 – 3pm, with the opportunity to see a school day in action through the eyes of a Year 8 (age 12 – 13) guide.  For the Saturday morning in September, 9am – midday, we put on extra-curricular activities to give you an insight into the broader aspects of a Moulsford education, again with senior boys acting as guides.

Our boys are very proud of their school, and thoroughly enjoy showing families around.  As well as being our best ambassadors, they will also give you a very honest picture of school life and will answer questions frankly!

Individual Visits

Prospective parents are welcome to make an individual appointment for a school visit and meet the Headmaster at any point during term time, or online via Zoom.  Please contact the Registrar to arrange an appointment.

An individual appointment for a school visit will last roughly one hour, and involves meeting the Headmaster, having a tour of the school with him, and generally experiencing the atmosphere of a normal school day.

If you would like to get in touch to discuss any aspect of Admissions, or to arrange an appointment to visit during term time, please email the registrar or call on 01491 651438.

What happens at an open day?

Our Open Days present an opportunity to meet staff, pupils and parents and have a tour of the school. Parents will be greeted by staff and then taken on a tour by our senior boys who are very proud of their school, and thoroughly enjoy showing families around. As well as being our best ambassadors, they will also give you a very honest picture of school life and will answer questions frankly! After that there will be a chance to meet the Headmaster, Registrar, members of staff and parents who will answer further questions.

What is a virtual open day?

During the COVID-19 pandemic, we were unable to have large groups of parents visiting the school. Therefore our Open Days were held online when new families were offered the opportunity to meet the Headmaster, Mr Ben Beardmore-Gray as well as staff, via presentations and a live Q&A session.

If a similar situation arises again in the future, we can easily revert our Open Days to a virtual alternative.

How do virtual open days work?

Virtual Open Days are held on Zoom with families watching live presentations from key members of staff before engaging in a live Q&A. There is also the opportunity to meet online with the Headmaster afterwards to discuss the school further.
