The Early Education Funding scheme allows parents to access funding from the Government for childcare services. This includes universal entitlement of up to 15 funded hours per week for 3 and 4 year olds, and as of September 2025, it also includes the working parent entitlement, through which eligible parents can claim up to 30 hours per week (incorporating the original 15 hours). Parents can claim both the universal entitlement and the working parent entitlement from the term following a child’s third birthday until the earlier of:
- the term before they enter the Reception Class; or
- the term in which they turn 5 years of age
