Here are some of their achievements

Charlie H and Will C play in winning U11 Berkshire Cricket team

Charlie H and Will C (Year 7s) were part of the Berkshire U11 Cricket team which was hugely successful over the summer - they were crowned overall champions after a week of cricket at Shrewsbury School, which held a big county tournament.

Charlie also got to play in a cricket game with Alistair Cook who was on the same team as Charlie. His mother told us “As you can imagine Charlie was thrilled to bits to be able to play with his hero. It was an adult game of cricket which he was very lucky to play in.  Charlie got three wickets!!”

Moulsford achieve Henley 6-a-side Football Tournament Success

A huge congratulations to the Moulsford Year 1 boys (now Year 2) who won the Henley 6-a-side football tournament over the summer.  All the boys played with great enthusiasm (even listening at some points) and most importantly played as a team, so well done to Oscar, Jacob, Louis, Charlie, Ilia and Monty.

Their coach told us that the boys were very well behaved and were a credit to Moulsford, beating four other local schools.  A big thank you to the parents for bringing the boys along, they all thoroughly enjoyed it and did extremely well to win the trophy.

Theo P (Year 7) performs in Lark Rise

Theo P took part in the Blewbury Players production of Lark Rise at the end of July and did a wonderful job of playing the part of Edmund Timms.  He acted with confidence and enthusiasm and even made the Director cry with his emotional performance.

Theo auditioned for the play back in January of his own volition and rehearsals started at the end of May three times a week until the performances in July which played to a total audience of 1,000.  Well done Theo – we look forward to seeing you on stage again soon.

GSCE Exam Success

Timme K (2018 Leaver) took GCSE Dutch last term and received his results over the Summer holidays.  He got an A* - well done Timme!

Two Year 4 boys found a detonator cap from the First World War

Year 4 boys, Ben PP and Lorenzo ND, made an exciting discovery whilst playing in woodland behind the playground in Stoke Row during the holidays.  Whilst digging in a patch of mud, they unearthed a detonator cap from a WW1 bomb!  After Ben’s father cleaned it using a vinegar and salt solution, a Dopp X 92 brass cap was revealed, also known as a ‘fuze’, which would have been attached to a German shell fired by 15cm artillery guns.

We are hoping the boys may bring it into school as part of our celebrations of the centenary of the Armistice.  Their story was on the front page of the Henley Standard on Friday 10th August.  Well found boys!
