Pupils supporting each other

Over the last fortnight, the Learning Support Department, alongside Aimee Laming (Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist), has welcomed pupils with formal diagnoses of ADHD and/or Autism to our pupil support events. These events truly are a demonstration of our school values in action. Every pupil who attended demonstrated courage when talking about how their neurodivergence shapes them as a unique individual. They showed curiosity when asking one another about their individual strengths and needs, and kindness in the way they supported and collaborated with one another. They also had a lot of fun!

On Wednesday, we also welcomed the siblings of individuals with neurodivergence to a ‘Super Sibling’ breakfast. It was particularly special as we welcomed a new group of super siblings from our Year 3 cohort. Once again, this group of young people spoke openly and honestly about the ways their siblings’ strengths and needs impact family life. They communicated strong feelings of pride and gratitude when talking about their neurodivergent brothers and sisters.
It is a privilege to be part of these events and to spend time with these groups of exceptional young people. A huge thank you to everyone who attended and supported these events.
