QuadKids Athletics

Eight boys from Year 4 and four boys from Year 3 took part in the QuadKids Athletics at St. Hugh's last Saturday. All boys were competing in a mixed team with girls from Rupert House. The U8 team of Kyuss, Guy, Charlie and Henry and their Rupert House teammates secured 2nd place in the team competition. The U9 teams did brilliantly and came away with a Gold Medal in the team competition with Bronze for Hamish in the individual boys’ event.  Well done to everyone involved!

County Championship

Last Saturday Barnaby H from Year 7 competed in the Oxford and Bucks County Championships in athletics. He had a jam packed afternoon competing in the hurdles, 100m and 200m, which involved heats and finals. He did extremely well in all three events, especially in the hurdles where he came away with gold.

Athletics at Radley College

On Tuesday, boys from Years 5 to 8 travelled to Radley College for their annual Athletics Meet. It is always a tightly contested event with schools competing from all over the region. Everyone put in an extraordinary amount of effort to their chosen events and we had some very pleasing results across the board. Year 5 came second in their relay, whilst Rory W won the 800m convincingly; Year 6 came third in their relay, with Woody H-H gaining a new PB in the high jump; Year 7 narrowly came second in the relay, Barnaby H won the 100m, and Sam W won the 200m and long jump; Year 8 came fourth in the relay, Ted C won the triple jump, Rufus S came second in the shot and Jack S jumped a whopping 1.45m in the high jump.  A great show from everyone who competed, well done chaps.
