Weird and wacky readers

To mark World Book Week, during half term the children were asked to take part in an Extreme Reading competition. The idea was for them to take a photo of themselves reading in an ‘extreme’ location or doing something weird, wonderful and wacky. This year we received the highest number of entries ever with over 130 pictures and videos received – that’s a lot of reading!

There was a lot of snow and skiing action in the Alps, some rooftop reading, amazing stunts and skills, animal audiences, airport antics and clifftop peril!

It was an incredibly tough decision but the winners were brothers Barney and Theo who acted as kicking tees whilst reading their books!  Runners up were Sam A, who was joined by an interested highland cow, and brothers Monty and Angus W who captured the perfect underwater literary shot. However, all of the entries were fantastic and we can safely say that reading really was the winner! Well done to everyone for being so creative.

You can view all of the entries in this video.
