Records Broken, Spirits Soared!

Friday’s Sports Day was a celebration of athleticism, school spirit, and sunshine — with the forecast promising a blistering 30 degrees, we were relieved to have the weather just right for a full day of running, jumping, and throwing.

Across 14 events, an impressive 268 pupils took part in 88 races, throwing an astonishing 360 vortexes, and giving it their all on the track and field. Thanks to an army of early risers, 44 gazebos were up before 11am, providing welcome shade and a festive backdrop for the day’s action.

One of the highlights of this year’s event was the inaugural appearance of the Year 3 and 4 Hurdles. Logan W (Y3) and Oskar N (Y4) both set new records in their respective 60m hurdle events, announcing the arrival of a new generation of athletes.

Several other records were smashed throughout the day:

  • Barney F (Y3) launched a vortex record of 32.33m.

  • Oliver B (Y6) ran a blistering 1:50.66 in the 600m, a new school best.

  • Ted M (Y7) soared to 4.15m in the Long Jump.

  • Ben P (Y7) set a new Triple Jump record of 7.65m.

  • Hugo B-C (Y7) threw the shot an impressive 8.01m.

  • Several relay teams also clocked in excellent times in the mixed year group relays.

The prestigious Victor Ludorum trophies were awarded to those who combined consistency, excellence and record-breaking performances:

  • Junior: Oskar N (Y4)

  • Intermediate: Oliver B (Y6)

  • Senior: Ted M (Y7)

And a huge congratulations to Bering House, who claimed 1st Place overall with a performance full of grit, determination, and camaraderie!

A massive thank you must go to our dedicated staff — from marking out the track, setting up events, marshalling, scoring, and catering — your efforts before and during the day ensured everything ran smoothly and safely. It was a fantastic community effort, and the smiles on the pupils' faces said it all.

With so many achievements and memories made, we’re already looking forward to Sports Day 2026, where we hope to see even more records broken and new stars emerge!
