Moulsford Wild West Ball

An evening of cowboys, cactuses, saloon girls and a bucking bronco

The annual Moulsford Summer Ball was once again a resounding success last Saturday.  The ‘Wild West’ theme was fully embraced by the guests and costumes and dodgy American accents were in abundance.

The sun shone and it was a perfect summer’s evening as drinks and canapés were served on the terrace overlooking the river, with an old fashioned stage coach taking centre stage (which was later revealed to be a photo booth, much to the delight of all of the guests).  The sports hall had been transformed into the Wild West (complete with saloon doors), and a giant sunset adorned the wall.  The room was full of sparkly cactuses with birds of prey circling overhead and of course a tequila bar.  The Wanted posters of various staff caused much amusement too!

A delicious Wild West themed dinner was followed by energetic dancing and glow stick waving and the dance floor remained packed throughout.

The highlight for many was the arrival of a Bucking Bronco after dark, with the queue to take part getting longer and longer as the evening went on.

The committee would like to thank everyone who supported the event, making it the biggest Ball ever.  After such success, they are already looking forward to planning next year’s event, and are busy plotting lots of cunning and creative ideas.  It’ll be a tough one to top!
