I Can and I Am
On Wednesday the Year 8s enjoyed a visit from James Shone and Anthony Dutton.
James Shone spoke first and shared his powerful story in his 'I Can and I Am' presentation. He then turned the focus on the boys, encouraging everybody in the audience to find their 'element', their 'intelligence'. A quotation from the presentation that perhaps best sums up James' talk was the line: "Inside every boy here, there is gold lurking." How true!
After lunch the boys then enjoyed a presentation from Anthony Dutton, which was, in the speaker's words, "a little bit of everything!" Anthony spoke about his journey, life's ups and downs, and how James' 'I Can and I Am' message has helped him through difficulties.
A really positive morning / afternoon for the boys. I would recommend James' podcast and Ted Talk for parents who may be interested:
