An Attitude of Gratitude

The boys from Year 7 and 8 had an inspiring talk from Ollie Phillips on Wednesday afternoon. Ollie works for PWC and also runs his own company called Optimist Performance (https://www.optimistperformance.com)

Ollie began his working life as a professional rugby player and then was very fortunate to take on a number of amazing adventures around the world. He spoke to the boys about embracing challenges and showed them a video from his sailing race around the world where the crew decided to go forward rather than take a step back. A lot of the boys thought they might go back as they saw the wave hit the boat. There was also a lot of concern for 74 year old Gill who was part of the crew and had fallen over in the video! Gill survived thankfully. We also saw video from his world record attempts at the North Pole and also on Mount Everest.

It was an inspiring hour and left the boys with some amazing messages to take forward. Understanding your 'Why' and an 'Attitude of Gratitude' are two messages Mr Weeks has said he will certainly remember.
