The 15th Inter-House Music Competition

On Monday 25th March, representatives of each house competed in the 15th Annual Inter-House Music Competition. Each house is required to submit a Solo Performance, an Ensemble Performance and a House Song. The theme for the House Songs this year was House Initials, and we heard Angels, Baby Shark, Circle of Life and Don’t Stop Believing, each song beginning with the same initial as the explorer after which each House was named.

Under the watchful eye of the judge, Mrs Laura Reineke, the Director of the Henley Music School, there were notable performances by Alex M-K, Nico V D Merwe and Alec Veitch, but Arion T, playing ‘Odd One Out’ on the drums, was named as winner of the Solo Round, competing for Amundsen. Cabot's version of ‘Viva La Vida’ by Coldplay won the Ensemble Round, and once again Cabot, singing ‘Circle of Life’, from Lion King, were named winners of the House Song.

As a result, Cabot emerged as the overall winners for the third year running, and Alex M-K was named 'Star Performer'.  Well done to all the boys, and thank you for all the effort put in by staff to help them prepare. Winners and losers alike, every single boy from Years 3-8 who was in school on Monday went home having sung in the competition, which, at the end of the day, is the real aim of this event. Well done everyone!
