A week of musical treats

The Wednesday and Thursday evenings of Arts Week saw two Musical Soirées. These started with a performance by the Senior Choir of ‘Reduce, Reuse, Recycle’, to reinforce the message of this year’s Arts Week, which was Sustainability. You Say, by Lauren Daigle, provided a moving conclusion to the programme. In between were many outstanding individual and duet performances, across a range of instruments and musical genres.  It was disappointing to lose the Year 6 performers on Thursday night and in particular the members of our String Ensemble. However, there were some terrific performances from the Pop Choir, the Jazz Ensemble and Percussion Ensemble. Parents went home buzzing, having been thoroughly entertained.

Finally, the week ended with the Pop Vocalists’ concert on Friday afternoon, when the audience enjoyed performances from over thirty individual boys, ranging from Year 4 to Year 8. The concert opened and closed with performances from the whole Pop Choir, each boy gaining a huge amount from the experience of performing in front of a large, live audience.

It’s so great to have live music back!
