Moulsford artists to be exhibited at the Ashmolean

We are delighted that eight Moulsford boys have been selected to have their artwork exhibited at the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford as part of Young Art Oxford 2022.

Young Art Oxford is an annual art competition and exhibition open to all Oxfordshire schools with children from Reception to Year 9.  The theme this year was Dreams and the boys produced some fantastic and imaginative artwork, under the guidance of Mrs Cummings.  Congratulations to William F (Year 2), Jacob B (Year 3), Ivo H (Year 4), Max L (Year 5), Zac W (Year 5), Ilia P (Year 5), Joe B (Year 7) and Raphie B (Year 7). We are particularly excited that Zac was awarded a Highly Commended and Jacob came second across the whole of Years 3 and 4 – a fantastic achievement.

Young Art Oxford is a wonderful opportunity for young aspiring artists to have their work judged by well-known professionals and artists and to exhibit at the prestigious Ashmolean Museum.  This year there were over 2000 entries across almost 50 schools.

The judges for 2020 were acclaimed artists Korky Paul, Dr Sarah Simblet, Annie Sloan and Ted Dewan.  The artwork is exhibited at the museum over three days in May, and is then sold off to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity and more specifically towards their research into finding cures and improving treatments for childhood illnesses.  The first Young Art Oxford exhibition was held in 2008, and since then, more than £150,000 has been raised for charity.
