Challenges across the school

During the last week of half term, each year group from Year 3 to Year 8 completed a morning of STEM challenges. The boys worked in teams using Google Meet to complete each task set and accumulate points for their group. They made cardboard glider planes, pencil catapults, rubber band racing cars, boats made from tin foil, paper building blocks as well as completing the infamous egg drop challenge!

The boys really got stuck into these challenges, enjoying the opportunity to work with their friends for a few hours. I regularly dropped into the group meets to find the boys discussing the best way to get the most points out of their creations. It was great to see them collaborating and encouraging each other to do well. Points were awarded according to the centimetres gained from each challenge. Team scores were added up to find the winning team, who will be receiving their prizes in the post over the half term holiday.

Well done to all the boys for joining in so readily and for being a pleasure to work with throughout the week.
