Head's Blog Virtual Moulsford

It’s been a busy end to Virtual Moulsford.  The Pre-Prep have had a virtual science show on flying machines, Year 8 have ‘been’ to Australia and Japan, and World Book Day was in a class of its own – have you identified the masked readers yet?

Before the boys return to the school site on Monday, I would like to both acknowledge and thank the whole Moulsford community for the extraordinary efforts made to ensure Moulsford has continued to be energised, exciting and vibrant throughout this current lockdown.

The boys deserve high praise for what has been a very challenging term so far.  Their resilience has been tested more than ever before, yet cheerfulness and high spirits have remained evident to the end in online lessons and in their virtual interactions with both their teachers and their friends.

We are extremely grateful to parents for all the support given in so many ways, and most recently for the effort that went into the World Book Day outfits yesterday.  At the end of these long weeks of online learning, your commitment to keeping your sons on track, with a sense of humour and injections of fun when most needed, have been enormously appreciated by the staff.

And a huge thank you to all the Moulsford staff for their dynamism, dedication and flexibility.  Teachers enter the profession to engage with children and to enable them to grow and flourish in so many different ways.  Being starved of the ability to do this in person makes the job far harder and much less fun!  The staff are so excited to be welcoming the boys back into the classroom next week.

Finally, we are very aware that the return to school may bring feelings of anxiety and apprehension for some.  Please rest assured that we are ready to work with both boys and parents to ensure as smooth a transition as possible, and will provide additional support as necessary.

Roll on Monday. It will be great to be back together as a community.
