Year 3 meet their Year 7 Buddies

The start of the school year signifies a new responsibility for the Year 7 pupils – becoming a Buddy to a new Year 3 pupil. This week the Year 7s have been introduced to their Buddies and the fun began with a tour of the school. No stone was left unturned as the Year 7s took their charges everywhere from the School Office, through to the Sports Hall and lockers, the Art Room, Theatre, Dining Room and everywhere in between, before finishing in the Year 3 classrooms. The Year 7s then sat with their Buddies and listened to them read, which was fantastic for both age groups.

The children then all reunited for lunch and there was a lovely atmosphere with lots of smiles and laughs. During this half term, Year 7 will continue to listen to their Buddy read but the main focus will be on helping the Year 3 children learn their lines and dance routines for the Year 3 Christmas performance!

It was also lovely to see the Year 4s join their Year 8 Buddies for a good catch up over lunch. The positive influence that the older Moulsford pupils have on the younger members of the school is tangible, and over time special and lasting relationships are formed.
