A huge breadth and choice for after-school activities
There has been plenty of excitement about the after-school activities, over the first few weeks of term. With a blend of old favourites and new offerings, the children once again have great breadth and choice for their late afternoon pursuits. From the energy of the Dance class in the Pre-Prep, to the concentration required to land a plane in Flight School, we are seeing all sorts of interests and passions growing by the day.
At this time of year it is great to still have so many pupils either on the river, kayaking and paddleboarding, in the swimming pool or on the bank fishing. There is also plenty of creativity on display with knitting, watercolour painting, cartoon drawing, sewing and photography and of course lots of active pursuits like invasion games, Parkour and Judo and some skills-based vocational activities like First Aid, cooking and Culture Club (who made sushi this week).
A highlight in the Prep School has been Mr Martin’s new Sports Coaching activity, in which the children take leadership for planning and delivering coaching sessions with a sporting skill of their choice. This is just one example of the skills-based learning that forms such an integral part of a Moulsford education. You can see a snapshot of the half term’s activities in this photo album.
Children in the Prep School are working hard towards Moulsford Award ratings, with Mr Noble visiting Years 3 to 8 in the next few weeks, to update them on progress and to review the upcoming programme for the second half of term. We hope to see many more of the highly coveted Moulsford Award badges given out at the end of term!
Next Friday (3rd October) will bring the release of the Activities offering for the second half of the Autumn Term, with a new tranche of activities to sign up for in both the Pre-Prep and Prep School. All details will be in ‘The Week Ahead’ and Schools Buddy will open for sign up on Saturday 4th October.
