A festive celebration
The Moulsford Carol Service is always a very special event, and this year was no exception. The Senior Choir were in beautiful voice, led by Head Chorister Joss B who performed the traditional 'Once in Royal David’s City' opening solo. The choir went on to perform a number of songs with Jasper D and Hugo H as soloists. There was also a stunning rendition by the Choir of ‘Ding Dong Merrily on High’ and there were performances from Year 5 who sung ‘Noel Let Us Sing’ and Year 6, who sung the French carol ‘Petit Papa Noel’.
There were readers from across the school from Years 2 to 8 who delivered the lessons with confidence and clarity. It is especially daunting for our younger pupils, so enormous congratulations must go them. Mrs McMann, as an outgoing member of staff and the Headmaster, Mr Beardmore-Gray read the final lessons. Thanks to the English Department for preparing them so well. We also had a Year 8 Drama performance with Hector A, Harry C, Jasper D, Rupert H, Rufus R and Theo W performing ‘King John’s Christmas’ by AA Milne from all corners of the Chapel.
Thanks go to Karen Braden, Director of Music, Ash Edwards, Head of Drama, Richard Martin, Head of English, and all of the staff who prepared the children so thoroughly, and to all of the parents who supported preparation at home, and at the service itself. Merry Christmas!
