The learning that takes place in the Moulsford classrooms is clearly so important, but it is only one element of a Moulsford education.  We have always strived to give a broad, rounded and holistic experience to the children and last weekend was a wonderful example of this.

On Friday afternoon we hosted the Prep School triathlon, which gave all children from Years 3 - 8 the opportunity to row, swim and run in the school grounds, and it was excellent to have our Year 2s as spectators so they know what awaits them next year. Such events are particularly valuable as they have the potential to ignite a passion in a discipline which children might not otherwise have exposure to. After (hopefully) a quick shower and freshen up, many of the boys from Years 6 -8 had a fast turn around to be ready for the MPA school disco that evening. It was a great pleasure to also welcome children from a number of other schools and thank you very much to the Parents Association and the Moulsford staff for organising such an enjoyable event for all the children.

The sun was shining on Moulsford for our Wind in the Willows event the following morning, and the site was looking at its very best. We thoroughly enjoyed hosting a combination of current and prospective families (310 people in total plus Mr. Toad!) for a morning of fun-filled activities for Pre-Prep aged children, including plenty of action on the river. Thank you to all of you who so kindly supported this lovely event and to our staff who made it all possible. We have had very positive feedback from all those who were with us.

We then went straight into a full set of matches for Years 5 to 8 against Lambrook, and well done to all on some excellent cricket and a great set of results. To round off an action-packed weekend, the School was very proud to again be the host venue for WalkWithMe. This wonderful event was founded by a group of Moulsford mothers in 2011 and this year raised over £30,000 for the charities Maggie’s and No5. Thank you to all those involved in such a busy weekend and particular thanks to Lauren Bateman who does a fantastic job in coordinating and organising the many Moulsford events.

Lauren will also be giving great support to the MPA Summer Party, ‘Lights, Camera, 80’s’ on Saturday 21st June, now only 5 weeks away. Tickets are selling fast, and I would strongly encourage parents to secure theirs by Monday if you want to join in the fun. Thank you again to the MPA team who are working so hard to give us a fabulous evening.
