Pre-Prep

A wonderful first fortnight

It has been fantastic to see our brand new Pre-Prep building full of noise and activity since the start of term. The children are all making use of their new space and exploring all of the wonderful things that are on offer to them. It has been particularly exciting to see our first ever Pre-School class, the Bobcats, enjoying exploring their indoor and outdoor environment as well as getting to know new friends.

The boys in Reception have been painting self-portraits and having their first experience of Playball with Mr MacKinnon, which has been very popular!

Year 1 have begun to explore their animal topic, All Creatures Great and Small.  They have produced some exceptional self-portraits (clothed in school uniform), the basic body parts of which they have labelled with impressive neatness.  They have hosted a tea party for their animal friends, performed the song Animal Fair, written about themselves, used their brains to solve number problems, engaged in literature, played, and - very importantly - settled together as a team.

There have been some brilliant Forest school sessions for the Pre-Prep children with even the Bobcats having time outside to begin their outdoor learning experience that continues right through the school.

In Mrs McMann’s vlog this week she names the first Stars of the Week for the term and it is particularly pleasing that the Pre-Prep staff have universally been able to praise the children’s attitude, manners and respectful behaviour. Well done to everyone!
