Year 3 enjoy a fascinating trip
On Tuesday, Year 3 enjoyed a fascinating trip to Kew Gardens, bringing their classroom learning to life in spectacular style. The day was packed with opportunities to explore the incredible diversity of plant life and link our current Science and Humanities work with real-world experiences.
A particular highlight was the awe-inspiring Palm House, where the boys were immersed in the hot and humid conditions of a tropical rainforest. They examined how plants adapt to extreme environments, both in rainforest and arid conditions, and asked thoughtful questions throughout. Armed with their Kew sketchbooks, the boys took time to capture some of the magnificent plants and architectural features, combining scientific observation with artistic flair.
Most exciting of all was visiting the towering Great Pagoda, which connected beautifully with our ongoing topic on China. The boys were captivated by its design and history, and it was wonderful to see them making such confident links between their classroom learning and what they saw on the day.
The children behaved beautifully, representing the school with pride and enthusiasm. It was a thoroughly enjoyable and educational outing – a good day had by all!
