Trip Academic

Gravity, friction, momentum

To start the academic year, Year 5 enjoyed a fantastic trip to LEGOLAND, designed to support team building in their new classes and link their learning in Science to a real-world context.

As well as exploring the park’s exciting rides and attractions together, the pupils took part in a hands-on Roller Coasters workshop. Here, they investigated key scientific concepts such as gravity, friction, and momentum. Working in small groups, they designed and built their own LEGO roller coasters, experimenting with how different forces affect speed and distance. The creativity and collaboration on display were outstanding, with some truly impressive designs!
