All Creatures Great and Small
Year 1 children had the most fabulous time when they visited Wellington Country Park this week. To support their topic entitled 'All Creatures Great and Small', they visited the farm there, where they discovered amazing facts about each animal, as well as having the exciting opportunity of feeding them too. Handling Shetland Ponies’ toe nail clippings and alpaca wool were certainly interesting!
One of the highlights of the trip was a train ride through the woodland, exploring the creatures hidden amongst the undergrowth, as well as a trail to uncover dinosaurs. The children amazed the teachers with their incredible knowledge about each one!
The children were so enthusiastic throughout the trip, bursting with questions in order to extend their knowledge and understanding. Their behaviour was exemplary and a credit to the school. What a wonderful day we all had!
