Assembly to introduce the new charities
On Thursday morning as part of their House Assembly, the children had representatives to come and talk to them about the charity their House is supporting this year. The charities chosen by the pupils are:
• Amundsen: The Abingdon Bridge, who provide wellbeing and emotional support for 13-25 years olds
• Bering: Oxfordshire Wildlife Rescue, an independent wildlife rescue charity
• Cabot: RNLI, who save human as well as animal lives at sea
• Drake: Lowland Rescue Oxfordshire, professional volunteers who search for high-risk vulnerable missing people
The children found all the talks very interesting especially seeing the drone that Lowland Rescue Oxfordshire uses. Everyone agreed that thermal imaging is very cool!
Each House managed to raise just over £1000 per charity last year, hopefully we can surpass that figure this year.
Well done everyone, keep up the good work.
