Over £2600 raised for the 4ED Foundation

I finished my challenge….not the steak one in the picture but a virtual one of 1202km through the Fjords of Norway and averaged roughly 8.5km a day for 142 days! This has all been to support a charity called the 4ED Foundation who support families impacted by MND.

Rugby is a massive part of my life and seeing heroes like Ed Slater and Lewis Moody having to take on the challenge of MND inspired me during the winter months to trudge through some miserable weather. David Flatman said it’s time for all of us that love the game to do something uncomfortable to support people like Ed and Lewis. This was my attempt and I’m so pleased I have completed it.

What have I learnt…

(1) Walking is SO important for daily mental and physical health benefits.
(2) If I set myself a target then I can be quite determined!
(3) Walking stops me over thinking
(4) The importance of having 'purpose' in my day-to-day life.
(5) How important a pair of cheap waterproof trainers can be from Sports Direct!
(6) The benefits of breaking goals down into 'atomic' day to day habits…James Clear
(7) How kind and generous people are. £2600 so far is beyond my wildest dreams.

If people would like to sponsor me then the link is here and will be open for another week.
Many thanks to the whole Moulsford community for the sponsorship I have received as it certainly helped to make the cold November evenings more bearable!

Mr Weeks

P.S. The steak platter is amazing and came just after finishing the challenge. It is at the Chester Arms in Oxford.
