Firstly, a big thank you to our grounds staff who have set the seasonal tone with the Moulsford illuminations. The display is so uplifting, and reflects the festive treats we have enjoyed this week in the run up to Christmas!
It was a delight to watch both of the Pre-Prep Christmas nativities, ‘Christmas Counts’ and ‘It’s a Baby’ which were hugely enjoyable and delivered with energy, fun, and fabulous singing. Seeing Year 3 perform ‘The Fleece Force’ this morning with such confidence, it was difficult to believe that these children are so young, and similarly on Tuesday evening, Year 4 gave us a wonderful collection of singing, recitals and jokes – as well as providing an excellent excuse for the first of many mince pies. This Year 4 production was on the back of very wet and chilly matches for the children – in true Moulsford spirit, it was great to see them dry themselves off and then ace their performance on stage.
By its nature, the Carol Service on Thursday is a more formal ‘set piece’ event, giving both the audience and those performing a different experience. As ever, the children rose to the occasion and there was the most lovely atmosphere at Pangbourne College Chapel last night. A very large thank you to all the Moulsford staff who have worked so hard with your children over the term to prepare them for these memorable milestone moments. A particular thank you to Karen Braden, our Director of Music, who has been especially busy this week. Thank you also to all our parents for the great support you give for these really important events.
I am pleased to share that the RAC Lunch in London held on 15th November raised an amazing £31,445 for Inspire, the charity which the 2026 South Africa rugby and football tour is supporting. The 71 children on the tour will spend a day with the Inspire team near Cape Town to learn more about the charity and how the funds raised by the Moulsford community will make a difference. A big thank you to all who supported the RAC event, to our sponsors, Frizzell Wealth Management and Edwin Doran, and to those who so generously gifted auction prizes. Thank you also to the parents on the South Africa Tour Fundraising Committee who are busy planning other events to raise further funds and awareness for Inspire.
