Life moves at a very fast pace and over the past few years it’s been evident that many parents are keen to drop children at School earlier in the mornings. As a result, we’d like to tighten up the morning routine for the children when they arrive to ensure that first, they are properly supervised and second, that we know exactly who is on site at this time of day (e.g. should there be a fire alarm).
The School day starts at 8.00am. However, Prep School Children may arrive on site from 7.45am, but not before. Those arriving between 7.45-8.00am should go straight to the theatre (not via the Sports Hall) with their belongings where they will be received by a member of staff. As specified on the website this 15 minutes prior to 8.00am is chargeable although we are currently not applying this. Should this change we will give parents good notice. Joining Boarders Breakfast remains an option for children – details can be found via the same link.
At 8.00am, the School day begins, and early arrival children will go from the theatre to their Form Rooms where they will be received by their Form Tutors. Children arriving from 8.00am should go to their Form Rooms but may go via the Sports Hall to drop their kit off. Please note that the Pre-Prep will continue to welcome children from 8.00am for now.
In the Prep School, at the end of the school day, we sign out children in Years 3, 4 & 5, and we will now extend this to Years 6, 7 & 8. All of the above will be enacted from Monday. As these new systems bed in there may be a few teething problems, so thank you for your support during this period.
On Wednesday, Lee Chaffey (Director of Sport) gave an excellent presentation to the parents of the seventy children who will be touring South Africa in April. It was also great to have so many of the tourists themselves present to hear all about the wonderful adventure that awaits them. Triona Roy, Chair of the SA Tour Fundraising Committee, also gave the meeting an update of recent successful events that have generated significant funds for Inspire Children & Youth. A very large thank you to Triona and her team who have worked tirelessly in this space. Particular mention should also go to the children who have collectively raised roughly £25K to date though many different and innovative means – what a great achievement!
The total figure raised for Inspire currently stands close to £60K, with the showpiece event, the South Africa Tour Dinner, being held on Friday 13th March. Parents from all year groups are extremely welcome to join us for what will be a fabulous evening for an outstanding cause. The Moulsford tourists will visit Inspire in April to learn how past sums raised by the Moulsford community have been allocated, and how their fundraising will build on this to make a real difference to Inspire families.
