It has been a week of glamour and glitter as our Year 7 and 8 pupils took to the stage for their Senior Play, A Midsummer Night’s Dream. It was truly wonderful to see pupils step out of their uniform, embrace the limelight and transform into new characters, bringing Shakespeare’s much-loved play to life with such energy, creativity and sparkle. Well done to Mr Edwards and his brilliant team for leading such an enjoyable production.
Productions like this are never the work of a few; they are a true community effort. Staff and pupils alike contribute their time, talent and enthusiasm and the result is something that the whole Moulsford community can enjoy together. Many of you will have given your time to listen to lines being learned, as well as attending the performances themselves. It was also a pleasure for our Year 6, 7 and 8 pupils to experience the dress rehearsal earlier in the week. Moments like these remind us just how powerful shared experiences can be in bringing us together.
As we move into the final week of term, there is a real sense of celebration across the school. This is a valuable time to reflect on all that has been achieved and to enjoy the many opportunities we have to come together as a community. Our House lunch today was a fantastic example of this, with pupils and staff sharing time, conversation and plenty of house spirit.
Looking ahead, excitement is already building for our House Shout competition on Tuesday. I suspect many households may hear singing over the weekend as pupils practise their lyrics, apologies in advance if songs are on repeat in your house! Events like House Shout are a wonderful way to celebrate teamwork, creativity and a shared sense of belonging. It is always fantastic to see every pupil involved, supporting one another and performing with confidence and enthusiasm.
Next week continues this strong sense of connection and transition. Alongside House Shout, we look forward to welcoming younger pupils for a Year 2 and 3 scavenger hunt, giving them a chance to explore the Prep site and begin to feel part of the community they will officially join in September. These early experiences are so important in helping children feel confident, excited and ready for the next stage of their journey, and we look forward to building on this with further transition activities in the Summer term.
Finally, we will come together as a school for our Easter Service on Friday, a special moment in the school calendar. It is an opportunity for reflection, celebration and togetherness, as we mark the end of a busy and successful term as one community. It also offers a chance to pause and appreciate all that has been achieved, while looking ahead with a shared sense of purpose and optimism.
