Fresh air and fun
A huge well done and thank you to all of the children who remembered to say hello or good morning on arrival at school this week. What a difference it makes. As we discussed in assembly, a simple greeting can really help us to feel noticed, valued and included.
On Tuesday, the Reception children visited the Living Rainforest and enjoyed some wonderful up-close encounters, including a sighting of the elusive Cinnamon the sloth, as well as some fascinating and unusual trees and vegetation. The children particularly enjoyed seeing the Philippine Water Monitor and the Red-Eared Slider terrapins, which can live for up to 30 years!
Despite the rain, we have managed to get outside during every playtime this week. We are fortunate to be able to play under the eaves of our building, enjoying some fresh air while remaining sheltered from the weather. Fresh air really makes all the difference and is as important as drinking water regularly and maintaining a healthy diet!
We have lots to look forward to next week, with the Year 2 assembly taking place, as well as a whole-school Open Day. With a large number of families in attendance, we are very much looking forward to showcasing our Pre-Prep department and the wide range of activities taking place in the classroom, led by our most valuable ambassadors of all, the children.
Wishing you all a very happy weekend and I look forward to seeing those of you who have booked to attend the Hockey and Rugby event for Year 1 and 2 on Sunday.
