Is it a bird…?

This week the children in Pre-Prep took part in the RSPB Big Schools Bird Watch.  In our Monday Pre-Prep assembly, and in the EYFS forest school sessions, we learnt about different types of birds, where they live and why they are important to our ecosystem.  We learnt about how a bird watch can provide lots of information to the RSPB about the health of our environment.

In our forest school sessions we made bird feeders, which we left out ready to entice the birds into our playground.  Then on Thursday lunchtime an enthusiastic group of volunteers looked to the skies to see what visited.  Some of the Year 2 children have kindly volunteered to submit our findings to the RSPB.
If you wish to take part at home, the RSPB are running the Big Garden Birdwatch this weekend.
