Asking questions, being brave and always being kind
In Assembly today, we were delighted to welcome two of our school Governors to the Pre-Prep: Sally Russell, who is known to many of the children as our Interim Head of Pre-Prep last year, and Rob Williams. It was a pleasure to showcase our learning, along with our Star of the Week and Pride of Moulsford winners. Of particular note was when one of the children kindly volunteered to explain what the Pride of Moulsford award is given for and, amongst many nodding heads, described how it is about asking lots of questions, being brave and always being kind. It reminded me of a poster I have at home which says, “Be wild, but always kind!” A wonderful balance to aim for.
The Year 1 children thoroughly enjoyed their trip to the Story Museum this week and have already requested that next year’s visit is much longer! As ever, the children were excellent ambassadors for the school and returned feeling inspired by the acting opportunities and the chance to imagine and explore.
Following the introduction of Relax Kids in the Prep School, Mrs Beardall has had the opportunity to talk with the children in Pre-Prep and begin exploring strategies to help regulate emotions, build confidence, and develop resilience and lifelong wellbeing skills. We hope to run some small-group sessions for the children and will be in touch with further information over the coming weeks.
Wishing you all a very happy and restful weekend.
