A splash of Spring

Just when we thought the sunshine had arrived and we could finally shed our extra layers, the chilly temperatures and rain returned! Despite the unpredictable weather, we are very much looking forward to the Spring. Following last week’s visit to the farm with our Year 1 and 2 children, there have been many exciting signs of the new season appearing all around us.

The children have been busy painting beautiful daffodils, bringing a splash of spring into the classroom. We have also welcomed some tiny tadpoles into the Pre-Prep foyer. The children are very excited to watch them grow and change into frogs over the coming weeks before they eventually find their way to a pond or hop off towards the river.

Spring provides us with a wonderful opportunity to talk with the children about new life and life cycles, and how both humans and animals grow and change throughout their lives. It has been a lovely way to spark curiosity and conversation as we welcome the arrival of a new season and approach Easter. We are very excited to welcome parents to our Show and Share events next week, taking place in the classroom followed by Easter songs in the Pre-Prep hall. We look forward to seeing you then!
