The focus this week has been "Keep Cool, Calm and Carry On", and that is exactly what we have done!
A huge well done to the children for their enthusiasm and positivity despite the postponement of our trips and the changes to some of our much-anticipated plans. Every child has embraced the week with a fantastic 'can-do' attitude, proving that we can still have fun, work together, and make wonderful memories even when things do not go quite as expected.
On Monday, every class enjoyed a visit to the swimming pool before the temperatures really began to rise, which was great fun. Tuesday saw a change of plan from our trip to Cotswold Wildlife Park, but we made full use of our paddling pools and spent the day splashing, playing, building, colouring, and simply enjoying spending time together. Sometimes the simplest moments are the best!
On Wednesday morning, we moved the bouncy castle into the hall and, whilst the cooler temperatures allowed, bounced to music before enjoying a well-earned ice cream after lunch. What a treat!
Thursday brought one of the week's highlights with our very own Sausage Dog Show! My two miniature dachshunds joined us for the afternoon and whilst they are certainly not award-winning performers, they were more than happy to be cuddled, walked, and persuaded to trot through hoops. They also spent plenty of time investigating everyone's feet in search of the smelliest pair! Thankfully, we all survived the inspection and Slinky the crumb hunter managed to inspect the hall very closely indeed! The afternoon was filled with laughter, paddling pool fun, and lots of happy memories.
Today, we rounded off the week with the much-anticipated slip and slide, followed by a delicious ice lolly to reward us all for our efforts.
Thank you for your trust and support in helping us keep your children safe, happy, and smiling this week. I think the majority of us would agree that it has been one of the best weeks ever!
Have a wonderful weekend.
