Head's Blog: Preparation for Senior School

Head's Blog

Moulsford is a preparatory school, and we do what it says “on the tin“ – prepare boys for the next stage. As all boys leave the school at the end of Year 8, advice to parents and preparation for boys is geared around this key milestone. We have no affiliation to a specific senior school, and are therefore able to give completely impartial advice to parents in their quest to find the right school for their sons. This year, Moulsford Year 8 boys will graduate to 12 of the country’s top independent senior schools.

Moulsford will always aim high for your boys, and the links that I and the school have forged with Heads, Registrars and key staff of senior schools are extremely valuable. The Moulsford brand is strong on the senior school circuit. The move to the next stage can often be a daunting prospect for both parents and boys, and we are here to guide families through this process, which starts in Year 5 with ongoing dialogue throughout Years 6 through to 8. Parents may be interested to read the attached article which was recently published in The Week’s Independent Schools Guide supplement. There is a lovely picture of Mr. Edwards leading a group on the river. Is he playing a guitar? Now there’s an idea for a new activity............

Last week, I announced that Arion T had gained a Music Exhibition to Bradfield College. I did Arion a disservice because he had actually been awarded a Music Scholarship. My apologies to Arion and for mistakenly downgrading his achievement!
