Head's Blog Parents Event

It has been a wonderful start to term with the amazing weather contributing to a lovely atmosphere in school. We’ve had such a busy time already with a great sense of purpose in the classrooms. Well done to your children who have returned to school from their summer break, full of enquiry and enthusiasm and a desire to learn.

Community is central to the Moulsford experience and during these first few weeks of the academic year, there are so many great examples of partnerships between our different stakeholders which collectively add huge value to all our lives. First, we so enjoyed hosting members of the Parents Association and the Form Reps to drinks in the Pre-Prep last night. The work that these parents do behind the scenes throughout the school year is so important to the smooth running of the school, and we are extremely grateful to them.

The Moulsford experience does not end when children and their families leave the school, and tomorrow we host 220 guests for our Old Moles Day. This is an extremely special day for our community, reminding us all that a Moulsford education sets children up for life, and that enduring friendships are forged for past pupils, parents and staff. We are so looking forward to the day. Thank you to the Year 8 boys who are very kindly coming to school tomorrow to help, and are the perfect link between the past and the present. Mariam Owens and Lauren Bateman have worked so hard in preparation for the day, and we are enormously appreciative of all they have done.

Moulsfest is a wonderful community event and takes place from 12.30-5.00pm on Saturday 16th September. This will be an action-packed fun-filled family event with highlights including live music, carnival stalls, bouncy castles, a BBQ, ice creams and… the Moulsford Mudder! Not only will you and your children have loads of fun, but we’ll all be raising valuable funds for Inspire, the charity Moulsford is supporting for the 2024 South Africa Rugby Tour. If you’re lucky you might even get a chance to throw a wet sponge at me! Thank you to Alex Bonney and her team who have worked so hard to give us what will be a very memorable afternoon.
