Will G places in the top 10 nationally

As part of his fundraising for Inspire ahead of the South Africa rugby tour, Will G in Year 8 decided to undertake a virtual row along the Thames from his old school, Kings House Richmond to Moulsford. This challenge amounted to 115km of rowing and took just under 10 hours through January.

Since beginning this challenge, Will has become increasingly keen on rowing and thought he would try out at the National Junior Indoor Rowing Championship last week at the O2 arena in London. 400 boys from Year 8 competed in the event (290 in London and 110 in Leeds) and Will finished 2nd in his heat and 8th nationally, securing a Personal Best of 831m over 3 minutes.
Will has now started training at Henley Rowing club and is looking forward to hopefully competing on the river in the summer.

Congratulations Will!
