Teamwork and Communication

This half term, our Year 1 and 2 pupils are enjoying the exciting sport of tag rugby. Through a range of fun and active sessions, the children have been developing their movement skills by learning how to dodge defenders, find space, and move quickly with and without the ball. They have also been building confidence in their ball-handling, practising passing and catching with accuracy while working alongside their teammates.

A big focus has been on teamwork and communication, as the pupils begin to understand how to support each other on the pitch and celebrate one another’s successes. The sessions have included a mixture of skills-based activities, team challenges, and mini-matches, giving every child the opportunity to apply their learning in a game situation.

Most importantly, the children have approached each session with great enthusiasm, showing resilience, determination, and lots of smiles. They are building strong foundations for the game of rugby while learning valuable lessons about cooperation, fairness, and respect.
