Football and Rugby for the Autumn Term

The first half of the Autumn term has seen a fantastic start to our House sporting calendar, with a range of competitive fixtures taking place across Football and Rugby. Pupils from Years 3 to 8 have represented their houses with pride and determination, and it’s been great to see the dining hall shelves beginning to fill with some early silverware.

Football (Years 7–8)
The senior house football matches delivered a thrilling display of talent and teamwork, particularly in the highly competitive A and B tier fixtures. Across both levels, the boys showcased excellent sportsmanship and skill, leading to the following results:
●    1st – Amundsen

●    2nd – Cabot

●    3rd – Bering

●    4th – Drake

Football – Colts & U10 (Years 5–6)
In the Colts and U10 categories, we moved to a 9-a-side and 7-a-side format respectively. Matches were played with great intensity and enthusiasm. One house in particular dominated both formats, showing consistency and flair throughout:
●    1st – Cabot

●    2nd – Bering

●    3rd – Drake

●    4th – Amundsen

Rugby – U8 & U9 (Years 3-4)
The final house matches of the term saw our youngest players take to the field, cheered on by an impressive turnout of parental supporters. The U9 boys (Year 4) played transitional contact rugby, demonstrating fantastic tackling technique in their 1v1 efforts, with a two-try scoring cap per player encouraging strong team play. In the U8 matches, two-handed touch rules allowed for flowing, expansive rugby with similar scoring restrictions.
The final placings were:
●    1st – Drake

●    2nd – Bering

●    3rd – Amundsen

●    4th – Cabot

A huge well done to all the children involved in the house matches so far this term. Your energy, teamwork, and commitment have been fantastic to witness. We now look forward to Colts House Rugby and U8 Hockey after half term.
