Hockey and Rugby at Chandlings
This week marked a special milestone for our Year 3 pupils as they took part in their very first fixtures representing Moulsford – a moment they had been looking forward to with great excitement! The boys travelled to Kennington to face Chandlings and St Hugh’s in Tag Rugby, while the girls took on Chandlings in Hockey.
The coach journey itself was full of energy, with plenty of tactical talk, bold predictions, and enthusiastic singing – a sure sign that this was going to be a day to remember!
Once the games got underway, the boys rose to the occasion with impressive performances against both opponents. There was some excellent tagging, strong running lines, and a number of well-timed offloads that led to exciting passages of play in what proved to be fiercely contested matches.
On the Hockey pitch, the girls demonstrated all they had learned over their first five weeks of the term. Their stick skills, passing, and positioning were excellent, and it was brilliant to see their efforts rewarded with some lovely goals.
We are incredibly proud of how all the children represented Moulsford – with energy, teamwork, and smiles throughout. A huge thank you as well to all the large amount of travelling supporters whose encouragement and enthusiasm on the sidelines added to the positive atmosphere. We look forward to the next round of fixtures as this cohort continues their sporting journey!
