Second in the country

Last year’s Colts A team capped off a superb cricket season by finishing 2nd in the country at the National Hardball Pairs Cricket Finals on the 10th July, held after a rigorous qualification process. The team first secured their spot through a regional qualifier, before finishing 2nd in the South of England event—earning them a well-deserved place in the national finals.

At the finals, the boys showcased tremendous skill, teamwork, and determination, winning all three group-stage games in commanding fashion to book their place in the final.

Group Stage Results:

  • Game 1 vs Ratcliffe:
Moulsford posted a dominant 117/1 (312) and restricted Ratcliffe to 49/7 (214) — a good victory to start the campaign.
  • Game 2 vs Bolton School:
Another impressive batting display saw Moulsford score 117/2 (307), beating Bolton School, who managed 72/4 (252).
  • Game 3 vs Town Close:
Moulsford remained unbeaten in the group stage with 111/3 (296), bowling out Town Close for 55/9 (210) to seal a third straight win.

These results took Moulsford into the final against Blue Coat School, Birmingham, in what proved to be a closely contested match.

The Final:

  • Blue Coat Birmingham: 60/3 (245)
    Moulsford: 63/6 (233)

Despite a valiant effort, Moulsford narrowly lost out to a strong Blue Coat side, finishing as national runners-up—a phenomenal achievement and testament to the squad’s hard work throughout the season.

Congratulations to all the players and coaching staff for an outstanding campaign. This silver-medal finish at the national level rounds off a memorable school cricket season in style.
