Under 13s in action
The 1st VII took part in the U13 IAPS Hockey Tournament which saw the team travel up to Malvern College for the annual tournament. The team consisted of a mix of Year 7 & 8 boys and in the group stages we faced 3 teams; The Elms, Winchester House and St John’s Beaumont, where we won two and lost one.
After the group stages were completed, the team awaited the standings and it was announced that we had come 2nd in the group and therefore progressed into the Cup competition. An outstanding effort. In the Cup Semi Final, Moulsford faced top of the table in Pool 1, Bromsgrove. Bromsgrove, a good hockey side, took the win and headed to the final. A tough first knockout game saw Moulsford slightly deflated. Onto the next! Moulsford headed into the Cup 3rd/4th play-off and faced Winchester House once again. Moulsford went 1-0 up early in the second half, however, after a fantastic game of hockey, Winchester House came out on top.
It was an excellent tournament for all involved. The team should feel extremely proud of how far they have come (out of season). We take this experience into the season when it arrives after half term with our first outing at Stowe 7s. Mr Corbett is extremely proud of the boys’ efforts and they should keep their heads held high!
Well done!
