STEM trip to the MAD Museum and Shakespeare’s Classroom
Year 6 visited the MAD (Mechanical Art and Design) Museum in Stratford-upon-Avon this week, followed by a session at Shakespeare’s Classroom.
The MAD Museum showcases interactive mechanical sculptures and machines, providing a practical connection to the STEM topic that the pupils have been studying in class. They all had the opportunity to explore how design and engineering comes together in creative ways. They all really enjoyed the hands-on experience.
At Shakespeare’s Classroom, the children gained an insight into what school life was like during the Elizabethan era. Getting to grips with a quill was easier said than done! This visit complemented the drama work they completed last term and provided further context to their learning. The trip really enhanced the pupils’ understanding of their current curriculum topics and provided a broader perspective on engineering, design, and theatre.
