Outdoor fun and fantastic learning

What a wonderful week it has been in Pre-Prep! The children have come into school each morning full of curiosity, and we are so proud of how engaged and enthusiastic they have been, despite the tiredness which always creeps in during the third week of a new term.

In classrooms, we have seen busy hands and busy minds at work. From exploring numbers in creative ways, to storytelling, conker rolling, and role play, the children have been learning with such joy. Our phonics sessions have been full of excitement too, with everyone practising their sounds and beginning to blend with growing confidence.

Outdoors, the children have relished the autumn sunshine (and rain), running, climbing, and working together. Reception have been learning all about trees and created their very own tree prints using a technique called Hapa Zome where hammers are used to transfer the pigment to fabric. You will see some wonderful examples on display in the Pre-Prep foyer.

A real highlight of the week was the Year 1 trip to Wellington Country Park, where the children’s curiosity and sense of adventure shone through. They impressed us all with their questions, teamwork and enthusiasm and their manners were absolutely first rate. Well done Pumas!

As always, the children have shown great kindness towards one another – helping friends, offering smiles, and celebrating each other’s achievements. We are so pleased with the start they are making to the term, and look forward to another week of learning, laughter and discovery next week.

A highlight of the week is always our Celebration Assembly where we run through the house points, stars of the week and The Pride of Moulsford, which was awarded this week to Alexander ORN of the Tigers.
