Dragons and Lanterns
To kickstart their topic on China, Year 3 took part in a carousel of activities on Friday. Split into three groups, the children had an art session where they created a collaborative design for a dragon on a large sheet (which would be used later for their performance). In DT each child designed and made their own Chinese lantern and finally each group learnt a routine as part of a Dragon dance, which they then performed for each other at the end of the day. Some of their Year 7 Buddies even came along to watch them perform, and had a go at being Dragons themselves!
It was a brilliant way to start their topic and bring it to life.
